Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 1, 2026

The short version Flowta keeps no copy of your data on its own servers. Your tasks, watchlist items, notes, and reminders live on your device and in your private iCloud account, managed by Apple. There is no Flowta database, no analytics, and no advertising. We literally cannot read your data because we never have a copy of it.

1. Who we are

Flowta ("Flowta," "we," "our," "us") is a personal planning application for Apple platforms. This Privacy Policy describes how Flowta handles information when you use the app.

2. Information we collect from you directly

None of substance. Flowta does not maintain user accounts, profiles, or any server-side record of activity. Specifically:

  • We do not collect your phone number, location, contacts, photos, browsing history, or device identifiers. (Your name and email, if you share them, are handled only through Sign in with Apple — see Section 3.)
  • We do not use analytics, telemetry, crash reporters, advertising SDKs, or third-party tracking tools inside the app.
  • We do not transmit your tasks, watchlist items, notes, reminders, projects, or areas to any Flowta-controlled server. The app contacts a Flowta server only when you delete your account — and only to revoke Sign in with Apple access, never to send your content (see Section 10).

3. Sign in with Apple

Flowta uses Sign in with Apple as the sole authentication method. When you sign in:

  • Apple provides Flowta with an opaque, app-specific user identifier. This identifier cannot be used to look you up outside of Flowta.
  • At sign-in, Apple asks whether you want to share your name and email. If you choose to share them, Apple provides them to Flowta — and you may use Apple's "Hide My Email" to give a private relay address ending in @privaterelay.appleid.com instead of your real one. Flowta uses your name and email only to identify and personalize your account and, if needed, to reach you about it; we never add them to a marketing list. They are stored with your own data, not in a Flowta database.
  • We use this identifier only to associate your data with your iCloud container so the app knows it is "you" across your Apple devices.

For details about Sign in with Apple, see Apple's Sign in with Apple privacy documentation.

4. How your data is stored and synced

Your Flowta content is stored on your device and, if you have iCloud enabled, in a private iCloud container inside your own Apple ID. This sync uses Apple's CloudKit framework.

  • Apple manages the storage, encryption, and transmission of this data. Flowta does not have access to your iCloud container.
  • Sync occurs between your own Apple devices that are signed in to the same Apple ID. No other party — including Flowta — can read this data.
  • If you turn off iCloud for Flowta or sign out of your Apple ID, sync stops and any future changes remain local to that device.

Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's own privacy policy and terms.

5. Reminders and notifications

Reminders in Flowta are local notifications scheduled by your device using Apple's notification framework. They do not pass through any Flowta-operated server, and they continue to work without an internet connection. We do not receive any signal when a reminder fires or is dismissed.

6. Information we do not collect

We want to be explicit about what we do not have:

  • We do not have a database of your tasks, projects, watchlist items, or notes.
  • We do not have logs of which features you use, when you open the app, or how often.
  • We do not have your IP address, device location, advertising identifiers, or behavioural profile.
  • We do not sell, share, license, or transmit your personal data to any third party — because we do not have it in a form that could be transferred.

7. Subscriptions and payments

If you choose to subscribe to Flowta+, the subscription is processed by Apple through the App Store under Apple's standard in-app purchase terms. Flowta receives notification from Apple of your subscription status (active, expired, refunded) but does not receive your payment details, card numbers, billing address, or transaction history. To manage or cancel a subscription, use the Subscriptions section of your Apple ID settings.

8. Children's privacy

Flowta is intended for users aged 13 and over (or the equivalent age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below this age. If a child has signed up and you believe their data should not be associated with the app, you may delete it as described in Section 10.

9. Email correspondence

If you write to us at info@getflowta.com or support@getflowta.com, we will receive your email address and message contents in our email inbox so that we can reply. We use this information only to respond to your message and do not add it to any marketing list. Email is processed by our email provider under their standard privacy practices.

10. Deleting your data

Because Flowta does not hold your data on its own servers, deleting your data is something you control entirely from your Apple devices:

  • Delete the app: Uninstall Flowta from each device. Local data on that device is removed.
  • Delete iCloud data: On any Apple device signed in to your Apple ID, open Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Flowta (or System Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage on macOS) and choose to delete the Flowta data.
  • Sign in with Apple: You may revoke Sign in with Apple access for Flowta at any time via Settings → [your name] → Sign-In & Security → Sign in with Apple.

In-app account deletion is also available from Settings → Account → Delete account inside Flowta, which signs you out, clears local data, and instructs the app to remove your iCloud container. As part of this, the app calls a minimal Flowta endpoint (a serverless function) whose only purpose is to ask Apple to revoke Flowta's Sign in with Apple access for your account. This endpoint processes only the Apple-issued token required for that revocation; it does not receive your tasks or other content. We keep only a minimal log entry recording that a deletion was completed.

11. Security

Your Flowta data inherits the security of Apple's platforms: device-level encryption, iCloud's transport and at-rest encryption, and Sign in with Apple's anti-tracking properties. We rely on Apple's secure frameworks rather than building our own, which reduces the surface area where mistakes can happen. The only server-side component Flowta operates is a minimal endpoint used solely to process account-deletion requests (see Section 10); it never receives your tasks, notes, or other content.

12. International users

Because Flowta does not transmit your content to its own infrastructure, your tasks and personal content stay within the iCloud region associated with your Apple ID. International users are treated the same: no separate processing, no cross-border transfers initiated by Flowta. Email correspondence with us may be processed in the country where our email provider operates.

13. Changes to this policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of the page and, for material changes, surface a notice in the app. Continued use of Flowta after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

14. Contact us

Questions, concerns, or requests about privacy can be sent to info@getflowta.com. We respond to legitimate privacy requests within a reasonable time.
